- Is the quote itemised, so you can see what's included and what isn't?
- Does it cover removal and disposal of the old kitchen or bathroom?
- What happens if something unexpected is found once work starts?
- How is payment split, and when is each part due?
About the work
- Who will actually be doing the fitting: their own team or subcontractors?
- Who handles gas and electrical work, and what certificates will you receive?
- What is the expected start date and how long will the job take?
- How will they protect the rest of your home while work is going on?
About the company
- Can you see photos of completed jobs, ideally before and after?
- Are they insured?
- Do they have real customer reviews you can read?
- What aftercare is offered if something needs adjusting later?
Trust your first impression
Someone who listens, answers clearly and is honest about what they don't know is usually a good sign. Take your time, compare more than one quote, and don't feel pressured to decide on the day.
