Homes in Basildon

Basildon was developed as a new town after the Second World War, so much of its housing dates from the 1950s to the 1970s, alongside older villages such as Laindon and Pitsea and newer developments. Many homes share similar layouts and room sizes.

What we think about for Basildon homes

• Homes from this period often have compact kitchens, so layout and storage choices matter more than the size of the room.
• Where several houses on a street share a layout, we can plan around what has worked well for similar rooms, while tailoring it to yours.
• Bathrooms of this age often benefit from updating the layout, as well as the suite, to make better use of the space.
